Electronic, eclectic, multiform: With new pieces for synthesizer and electronics by Asmus Tietchens, Hanna Hartmann, Luc Döbereiner and Andrea Neumann, Lange//Berweck//Lorenz unite several heartfelt matters at once!

In reminiscence of the first album of the Hamburg electronic pioneer Asmus Tietchens, "Nachtstücke / synthetic DNA #II" on the one hand connects people of different musical spheres with contemporary music and on the other hand continues the continuous collaboration of Lange//Berweck//Lorenz with certain composers.

Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation with Tietchens, who has not written a composition for the stage in 20 years. After some hesitation, he makes an exception for Lange//Berweck//Lorenz. After the world premiere of "pseudo topos" at MaerzMusik, another re-enactment of an early piece by him, "Ultima Tundra", will now be performed.

With her new work "schacht", the Swedish sound artist Hanna Hartman detaches sounds from their original context in order to perceive them in their purity, uncovers hidden connections between the most diverse auditory impressions and creates extraordinary sound worlds in new constellations.

Another world premiere is by Luc Döbereiner: His work "Phasenregelkreis" (2023) for three performers, algorhythmic sound synthesis systems and visualization is described by the composer himself as an aesthetic speculation on how humans and algorithmic processes can perceive and react to each other.

The program is completed by a revival of Andrea Neumann's piece "Signale vom Rand" (2022). For this piece, Andrea Neumann uses a mixture of audio score, improvisation and concrete instructions based on a feed of sounds from her inner piano.

Lange//Berweck//Lorenz is a Berlin-based trio for electroacoustic music. Founded in 2014, the collective's projects pursue the realization of electronic scores, the restoration and (re)performance of electronic works from the past, and the collaboration with contemporary composers on new pieces.

Today Silke Lange, Sebastian Berweck and Martin Lorenz present themselves as a trio on stage with a laboratory of analog and digital synthesizers and machines, the live performance on the instruments is enhanced by video and light design. The ensemble performs at festivals and concert series for contemporary and electronic music, including: Philharmonie Luxembourg, Musiques & Recherches Bruxelles, MaerzMusik, Multiphonies GRM Paris, ZKM Karlsruhe, SWR Attacca Festival Stuttgart, Ultraschall Festival Berlin, Heroines of Sound, Kontakte Festival Berlin.
