Oratorio

After overcoming a creative crisis, George Frideric Händel composed the Messiah in a record time of 24 days.

Since then, in contrast to Johann Sebastian Bach's great oratorios, which initially fell into oblivion, the “Messiah” has been performed continuously and with unbroken success. Händel himself repeatedly restructured his “Messiah” and adapted it to current circumstances
