The Protestant St. Mary's Church contains a number of mostly medieval works of art, the focus of which are depictions of the life of Mary.
They come from the monastery church and from St. Nicholas' Church, but two works of art were made specifically for St. Mary's Church - the monumental fresco of the Madonna of the Protective Cloak (2nd half of the 15th century), which is hidden by the magnificent baroque organ, and the epitaph painting for Joachim Steinbrecher, which shows the Annunciation and its symbolic interpretation. It is noteworthy that the painting dates from the post-Reformation period (1587) and is an example of genuinely Protestant Mariology.
