Start of the new series with writer and Radio One columnist Lea Streisand in the Weißensee bread factory. The premiere guest is the author and film critic Knut Elstermann, Prenzlauer-Berg veteran, celebrated radio journalist and beloved fast-talker.



Lea Streisand's columns have been heard on the radio every Monday for ten years, Knut Elstermann has reigned as the cinema king of good taste for even longer, and yet the two Berliners have been seen together far too rarely.


That's why Lea invited Knut to chat and read texts.

Knut Elstermann, born in East Berlin in 1960, studied journalism in Leipzig and worked as an editor for various GDR media. Since reunification he has been a freelance presenter and film journalist, especially for MDR and RBB (radioeins). Books as well as numerous features for television and radio, including about cinema in Israel and Russia and the DEFA history.


Lea Streisand, born in East Berlin in 1979, writes novels and has been speaking the Monday morning column “was beautifully jewesen” on rbb’s Radio Eins since 2014. She writes for taz, Berliner Zeitung, Jüdische Allgemeine and others. Her current novel “If I Had a Child” was published by Ullstein in 2022. In the winter semester of 2022/23 she took over the poetry lectureship at the University of Paderborn.
