If you like Korea and Korean culture, this is the right place for you. Here Korea fans can share their skills, their interests and their passion for Korea with others on stage.

The “Korea Open Stage” event presents Korea fans with their individual talents, personal connections and different performances. No matter whether pop, poems, speeches, comics or games - here is the right stage.

This year's Korea Open Stage event is once again ‘Clear the stage for everyone who wants to showcase their talent or their personal connection to Korea!’

Amateurs of all ages and nationalities with a strong interest in Korea can register.

  • Do you have a hobby related to Korea that you would like to present?
  • Would you like to talk about your passion for or your special connection to Korea?
  • Do you dance and sing to K-pop in your spare time or play Korean songs on an instrument?
  • Have you always wanted to recite your poem(s) about Korea?
  • Do you draw fan art or manwha, paint pictures inspired by Korea or want to show your photographs of Korea?
  • Pansori, Gayageum and Co. fascinate you and you would like to perform a short piece?
  • Do you practise a Korean martial art or are you interested in Korean cuisine?
No matter what interests you about Korea, how you engage with the country and what you would like to present - we offer you a stage!

Who can take part?

People with a keen interest in Korea
We are looking for amateurs who want to present their contribution to Korea on stage.

What can you present?

You are free to choose what you want to present - the main thing is that it is about Korea.  Your presentation can be in either German or Korean (for Korean presentations, please provide a brief explanation of the content in German)
Length of the contribution: maximum 5 minutes.

How can you take part?

Send your application by 7 March to mail@kulturkorea.org with the subject ‘Korea Open Stage - Contribution’.

The application should include the following:

  • Full name and age
  • Contact details
  • A short description (maximum 150 words) of the entry
  • Completed declaration of consent (see website of the Korean Cultural Centre: germany.korean-culture.org)

If possible, please attach the following illustrative material, depending on the type of contribution:

  • Your own speech: A video of your poetry recital or speech
  • Dance, song and instrumental performance: A short video of your performance (please specify performer, title and length of the song)
  • Own art, drawings and photographs: Digital file with the works to be shown, including a short description of the individual works
  • Other: Text, image and/or video material that should accompany your contribution or describe it in more detail
It is not important to deliver a perfect performance. The event should be about spending a nice evening together and exchanging ideas with other Korea fans.

The submitted entries will be selected by an internal jury. The selected entries will be announced by e-mail.

Those who are accepted will take part in the stage event on 11 April.

All active participants will receive a certificate of participation. There will also be a raffle on the evening for all active participants.

However, you can also take part in the event and watch the various performances without making your own contribution.

The start of registration for the audience will be announced at a later date.
