permanent exhibitio
The history of Köpenick is vividly presented in the permanent exhibition "Köpenick - Past to Today". More than 10,000 years ago, the first settlers began to settle at the point where the rivers Dahme and Spree flow together. As a result, Köpenick, like Spandau, is one of the oldest settlements in the Berlin region. A separate themed room in the museum is dedicated to the fascinating archaeological excavations of this period.
In addition, the exhibition is dedicated to other important research and collection areas, such as the history of fishing and laundry in Köpenick. The development of the region as an important industrial location and popular excursion destination is also highlighted in the exhibition.
