Kollwitz Sunday starts on February 2nd, 2025 and the museum invites you to the creative printing workshop. Every first Sunday of the month, the doors are open for your own creativity. Come along, bring some time with you and immerse yourself in artistic creation.

Käthe Kollwitz was a master of printmaking. Hardly any other artist of her time was more familiar with the expressiveness and craftsmanship of printing processes. Inspired by the house artist's original works of art, participants try out monthly changing techniques of the artistic printing process.

February 2nd: Relief printing: Using linocut to create shared stories
A story is developed together from self-designed motifs by the participants and told from different perspectives. It is then printed as a kind of graphic novel.
March 2nd: Diary: Binding and personalizing
Inspired by Käthe Kollwitz's diaries, this personal format as an object is the focus. Using a simple bookbinding technique, some pages are bound together and provided with an Ex Libris as a personal symbol.
April 6: Flat printing: design with screen printing
The participants combine motifs from the work of Käthe Kollwitz in the screen printing frame. The individual combination of the images creates a unique design.
Kollwitz Sunday
On the first Sunday of every month, the museum will open its doors for a special admission price of 4 euros. The admission price also includes the opportunity to take part in the printing workshop.
Children and young people under the age of 18 as well as holders of an eligibility certificate (formerly berlinpass), members of the Association of Berlin City Guides, representatives of the press and members of ICOM will continue to have free admission on Kollwitz Sunday.
