Guest performance by the Laughing Beasts from Prague

Kleist's hero Michael Kohlhaas breaks the law and uses violence in his fight for justice. The Laughing Beasts Theater pushes the boundaries of interpretation and comments on what is happening. How should one respond to injustice? And can violence be justified?

With Kohlhaas, Laughing Beasts continue their line of author theater that shows, alienates and corrupts the clear boundaries between the personal and the political. Building on the principles of Brechtian theater, the group plays an interpretive game with the text of the play, and the theater itself is the material.

In Czech with German surtitles. Followed by an audience discussion.
