The group KiezKlezmer, founded in 2006 in Charlottenburg's Klausenerplatz neighborhood, plays klezmer (the spirited, happy and melancholic Jewish and Eastern European dance music) and sings Yiddish songs with enthusiasm. In addition to the well-known, traditional pieces, the band has also developed and tried out their own ideas.
