The Art Week of Berlin's municipal galleries
KGB Art Week Celebrates its Tenth Anniversary. KGB Art Week’s tenth edition, from September 1–10, 2023, signals the beginning of Berlin’s autumn art season. More than thirty municipal galleries present a huge variety of exhibitions and exciting events.
The anniversary program features over 350 artists,
clearly highlighting the key areas of Berlin municipal galleries:
thematic
exhibitions, solo retrospectives of important Berlin artists, and relevant
accompanying events.
This broad remit covers the entire spectrum of artistic
production from painting to graphic art to photography and sculpture, video
art, and installations as well as sound and performance art.
This year’s KGB
Art Week brings climate change, ecological issues, displacement, flight and
trauma into focus.
There will be more than ten separate exhibition openings
during Art Week.
Kicking off KGB Art Week on September 1 is KGB Sounds
at Mariannenplatz, which celebrates the opening of “Voicing Bethanien – an
exhibition space in context” marking fifty years of Kunstraum
Kreuzberg/Bethanien.
In November, KGB Conference features lectures
and workshops exploring diversity and anti-discrimination strategies in the arts.
