The exhibition Keyword: Work shows works of art of classical modernism from the theme of work. The works from the museum's collection address the labor movement, strikes, labor disputes, transformation of work and workers' solidarity.

On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the founding of the SPD, these sometimes more or less abstract terms can be examined more closely with the help of the works of artists such as Otto Dix, George Grosz, Käthe Kollwitz or Heinrich Zille.
The motifs are places of industrial production or people involved in production. These are at work, without work or in industrial action. Many Classic Modern artists reflected on their reality, developed new design principles and used new techniques to make their situation visible.
