Book presentation and panel discussion with authors and editors

Whether in pop, punk, hits or fan chants: anti-Semitic stereotypes and worldviews are widespread in the music world. Public debates on the topic are often only superficial and the facets of anti-Semitism in contemporary music are often not recognized.

The book “Keyboard of Hate – Anti-Semitism in Music” takes up this topic and shows how different and changeable anti-Semitism in music can be.

The editors Maria Kanitz and Lukas Geck present the book, which was published in 2022, together with the authors Annica Peter and Nico Unkelbach. The panel also takes a look at the reactions of the culture and music industry to October 7th. Using the book, the guests discuss possible explanations for the increasing anti-Semitism and how to deal with it in the cultural sector.

Participation in the event is free of charge; please register at: +49 30 421845-10 or ticket@planetarium.berlin.
