What sport and social work have in common
On 5 November 2026, they’re inviting you to the Heinrich Böll Library to talk about sport, social work and the opportunities that arise when people work together to make a difference.
The guest speaker is Claudia Wolf from ALBA BERLIN, who heads the club’s school social work programme. Also joining them will be Albatros, ALBA BERLIN’s mascot. Together, they will discuss the role sport plays in young people’s everyday lives, how it can foster a sense of community, and what sport and social work can learn from one another.
The discussion will also address the question of how sport, reading and education can be combined. After all, physical activity does more than just strengthen the body: it can facilitate connections, boost self-confidence and open up new avenues for learning.
The Döner Dialogues aim to create a space for such ideas, questions and perspectives – and also to explore what a collaboration between ALBA BERLIN and the reading promotion initiative might look like.
And of course, at the Döner Dialogues, it’s not just about talking – it’s about eating too! As with every event, there will be vouchers for a free kebab.
Come along, enjoy a kebab together and join in the discussion!
The team is looking forward to a lively exchange about sport, social work, reading and the question of what we can all achieve together.
