Book launch with Florian Völker (author) and Thomas Meinecke (guest)

At the end of the 1970s, everything that was considered cold was suddenly in vogue in the German-speaking New Wave scene: emotionlessness and alienation, functionality and artificiality, industry and the big city, concrete and steel, computers and machines.

In his book "Kälte-Pop", pop historian Florian Völker examines the cold motifs and strategies of bands such as Kraftwerk, DAF, Ideal and Einstürzende Neubauten. The author talks to contemporary witness, cold protagonist and musician Thomas Meinecke (Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle) about the history, excesses and the end of the short-lived cold wave as well as its heirs.

The event is organised by the "Verein der Freunde und Förderer des ZZF e.V.", please register for the book presentation via the email address freunde@zzf-potsdam.de.
