Under the motto "Baroque Unlimited", music by Arcangelo Corelli, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann David Heinichen, Georg Philipp Telemann and Francesco Maria Veracini will be performed.
Founded in 1999, the Junges Musikpodium Dresden-Venedig with its European youth workshop on the music of the Serenissima is a unique baroque cooperation in Europe. For over 20 years, it has created space for encounters between young musicians from Dresden, Italy and France in order to bring the rich musical history of Venice with its centuries-old connections to the cultural metropolis of Dresden back to life.
The best instrumentalists of the Saxon State Grammar School for Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden will meet with peers from the Veneto as well as from Dresden's twin city Strasbourg for an orchestral academy in Italy to devote a week to the art of making music in the Baroque style. The repetition in Dresden with a concert in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister Dresden in front of Raphael's famous painting of the Sistine Madonna as well as the final guest performance in Berlin at the invitation of the Italian Cultural Institute of the Italian Embassy underline the interest and cultural significance attached to the project, especially in the musical metropolis of Dresden and in the German capital.
Works by Arcangelo Corelli, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann David Heinichen, Georg Philipp Telemann and Francesco Maria Veracini will be performed.
