Helmut ‘Joe’ Sachse has turned 75 and this will be duly celebrated!

In this concert, he will perform solo and with long-time companions and is guaranteed to delight his listeners.

Joe Sachse comes musically from the East German jazz scene, with whose representatives he played together almost without exception.
He has also performed with other international musicians such as Charlie Mariano, Albert Mangelsdorff, Tony Oxley, Han Bennik, John Tchicai, David Moss, Jack Bruce and many others.

From the 90s onwards, he also began to adapt standards from rock music. Sachse has enjoyed cult status as a solo artist for decades and the ‘Joe’ is no coincidence.

His guitar playing is full of energy and never fails to inspire, with JAZZTHETIK even calling him ‘the best tribute ever paid to Jimmy Hendrix’ after a concert and describing him as a ‘wizard of the guitar’.
Such and similar daring images are used to describe Joe Sachse's furious solo performances, and in addition to his solo with pieces by Carla Bley, he will perform adaptations of beatless songs with drummer Ernst Bier.

The CD T[W]OGETHER / JOE SACHSE & ERNST BIER "HERE COMES THE SUN " was released recently and of course Heiner Reinhardt and Manfred Hering, long-time musical companions and permanent fixtures in his trio, will not be missing from this concert. "Joe Sachse is regarded as one of Germany's leading jazz musicians.

He amazes even seasoned guitarists and thrills audiences: guitarist Helmut "Joe" Sachse, a vibrant free spirit full of captivating energy. World class, as it was developed in the East and has also been held in the highest esteem beyond the country's borders."  ~ B.Noglik
