Jazz stands for communication across all borders and mentalities, at the same time it makes life and emotional intensity tangible. "Jazz am Helmholtzplatz" stands for lively, creative, international jazz for all music lovers.

The jazz initiative "Jazz am Helmholtzplatz" wants to contribute to supporting jazz musicians, to enable them to perform live and to anchor jazz more firmly in Pankow (and elsewhere), where it was heard in many places until the 1990s. It aims to reach a wider audience and make the local scene more visible. The initiative has been voluntary since 2018 and a registered association since 2021.
