Larissa Sansour / Søren Lind
At the center of the expansive installation by Larissa Sansour (* 1973 in East Jerusalem, lives in London) and Søren Lind (* 1970 in Denmark, lives in London) is the three-channel video work As If No Misfortune Had Occurred in the Night (2022).
The operatic aria shown, sung by soprano Nour Darwish, combines the Palestinian folk song Al Ouf Mash'al with Gustav Mahler's Kindertotenlieder.
The work addresses loss, collective trauma and rituals of mourning.
