String Quartets by Korngold, Janáček, and Mendelssohn
The Heath Quartet made its debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal back in 2018—and since then, the four musicians have performed here, presenting works ranging from Haydn to Jörg Widmann.
They now return with a program that is just as rich in contrasts: The focus of the evening is Janáček’s *Intimate Letters*, his declaration of love to Kamila Stösslová set to music.
This passionate and deeply personal work is framed by Korngold’s First String Quartet and Mendelssohn’s Op. 44 No. 3.
