From 7 to 27 November, the popular Festiva at the Staatsoper unter den Linden will once again present a varied programme of opera and concerts, which in 2026 will range from the very beginnings of the opera genre to Christoph Willibald Gluck’s *Orfeo ed Euridice*, a work that marks the transition from the Baroque to the Classical period. Monteverdi’s *L’incoronazione di Poppea* and Purcell’s *Dido & Aeneas* will also return to the stage, performed by the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Christina Pluhar will also be appearing on several occasions with her ensemble L’Arpeggiata, notably in Stefan Herheim’s new production of Francesco Cavalli’s fascinating opera *La Calisto*.
