An approach to the personality of the actress Hannelore Elsner
In the basement of Frankfurt's Tigerpalast, Hannelore Elsner sings a song about a pear tree, a song about the eternal search for beauty and youth. The audience sits down with her at a richly laid table, listens and talks about life, leafing through a herbarium of memories.
That sounds very romantic. It is. Everything is romance, lust and play with Hannelore. With stylized looks, finely choreographed gestures and breathy sighs, she explains: "This is just one role, you have to understand that." We want to question Hannelore Elsner's roles, empathize with them and make assumptions. So we find something bigger that goes beyond her biography, which she still stands for today.
Because when Hannelore sings: "So beautiful girl, let yourself be loved, otherwise your heart will sadden you one day, then you're old and alone and will regret the good times," you realize: Something about Hanni.
The development of the play "Hannelore!" was created as part of Jette Büshel's directing studies at the HfMDK in co-production with the Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main.
