A piano recital in the Berlin Philharmonie, from which the pleasure of uncompromising piano art can be expected.

Grigory Sokolov was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1950 and began playing the piano at the age of five. His live recordings from the Soviet era are cult. They are testament to an artist who is as independent as no other, but at the same time was nourished by the rich Russian piano tradition.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Grigory Sokolov began performing in the major international concert halls and festivals. As a concert soloist he worked with the best orchestras before deciding to only play solo recitals. Sokolov gives almost 70 concerts per season. He devotes himself to a single program at a time, with which he completes major tours through continental Europe.
