Game on Symphony: Music from well-known video games performed live in the concert hall

The event will be broadcast live on radio3 and streamed on the ‘Twitch’ video platform and ARD Klassik’s YouTube channel.

Embracing new concert formats

The orchestra, conducted by Michael Seal, will perform music from many well-known video games: ‘Tomb Raider’, ‘Final Fantasy’ and ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance’.

Another special feature is that the Twitch community can comment on the proceedings in the chat, just like the audience in the hall or listeners tuning in on the radio.

Fridl Achten will be hosting the evening. The streamer Baso will be a guest. Nico Holonics will be providing commentary on radio3.

With Halloween just around the corner, you can get into the spooky mood with some music:

with soundtracks from survival horror games such as “Resident Evil” and “Dead Space”, post-apocalyptic soundscapes from “Fallout 4” or the icy struggle for survival in “Frostpunk”, plus epic sounds from “Civilisation VI” and “Final Fantasy”.

The livestream on ARD’s Twitch channel and the ARD Klassik YouTube channel starts at 7.00 pm; from 7.03 pm, radio3 will broadcast the concert from the Großer Sendesaal.

To get you in the mood, radio3 will be broadcasting a programme on the topic of “Music in Video Games” from 6.30 pm; guests on the show will include gaming expert Magnus von Keil, amongst others.
