The popular Hexenberg ensemble performs the two fairy tales Frau Holle & Rapunzel in its usual imaginative grim interpretation.

Frau Holle

Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere. In the constant competition for recognition within society, anarchy as a productive element of creation is simply forgotten. Always higher, always further, always faster and in the end only one winner gets the gold medal. But what about all the others who stand next to the winner's podium? Once your reputation is ruined, you can live quite freely, so the saying goes. And the world is already open: Those who behave well get A's; the others, however, get sex appeal.

"Rapunzel, let down your hair...", words of a fairy tale that are at least as old-fashioned as its authors, who recorded them in writing for posterity. Everyone knows this fairy tale: A story of the fulfillment of the most ardent wishes and the first great and everlasting love. But if we allow this fairy tale to become reality, it begins to take possession of us and suddenly the characters become part of us. Suddenly it is the fairy tale that observes and questions the viewer. Everything turns upside down and abysses open up that can only find expression in an opulent baroque opera.
