With humor, the work of Farah Al Qasimi (b. 1991, ARE) introduces cultural codes of communication and aesthetics in global post-internet culture. With particular interest in objects, interiors, and popular media, the artist invites us to reconsider individual relationships to consumption, economic growth, and national identity.
With a particular focus on her two countries of origin, the Arabian Peninsula and the United States, Farah Al Qasimi uses photography and video to capture moments of transcendence in banality and to question the promises of material goods and desires that we place in them.
C/O Berlin presents the artist's first solo exhibition in Europe.
