It's, how could it be otherwise, about love. But what kind of love do we mean, which men and which women are spoken of in the songs from around 1600? Isabel Kraft tries to ask this question from different angles and to get closer to her answer through songs (especially by John Dowland, 1563-1626), through translations, through texts, her own and those of others.
