The grandiose song catalog with Chris White, Terence Reis and five other world-class musicians on tour in Germany in May/June 2023!
It's been more than 40 years since the opening line of "Sultans Of Swing" was first broadcast worldwide. In doing so, the song introduced us to Mark Knopfler, a great guitarist and songwriter, and with it something that has become a musical universe unto itself: the music of Dire Straits. Over 25 years have passed since Dire Straits broke up, leaving behind a catalog of some of the best compositions and musical performances that the heyday of rock has ever produced. If anything, their reputation has only grown with time. Record sales of more than 120 million albums continue to climb as new and young fans discover the music and join the band's huge worldwide fan base. First assembled in 2011, THE DIRE STRAITS EXPERIENCE features Chris White and Terence Reis, along with five other world-class musicians, bringing this incredible song catalog back to live touring.
Against the backdrop of a two-decade hiatus - and a growing demand to hear one of the most diverse songbooks in rock history live again - former Dire Straits members Alan Clark, Chris White and Phil Palmer formed The Straits in 2011 for a charity show at the Royal Albert Hall. With the prolific Knopfler having an incredibly successful solo career, Alan Clark called on singer-songwriter Terence Reis to lead the band in his absence. By the time The Straits ended three and a half years later, the band had played more than 150 shows in 25 countries around the world. An invitation to play a series of shows in New Zealand and Australia then led to Chris White and Terence Reis teaming up again for The Dire Straits Experience. They are joined by an outstanding band of some of the finest professional musicians who have worked with an enviable list of rock greats including Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Sam Brown, Elton John, Joe Cocker, George Michael, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner and many more.
