Maximilian Ehrhardt – Renaissance and Revolution of the Baroque Harp
In an innovative solo programme, baroque harpist Maximilian Ehrhardt brings together six world premieres, each with a work from the 17th century, at the Radialsystem Christmas concert on 22 December.
The complex and expressive compositions of baroque masters such as Girolamo Frescobaldi, Giovanni Maria Trabaci or Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck serve as inspiration for new works by Chikage Imai, Natalia Domínguez Rangel, Malte Giesen, Bernhard Lang, Kate Moore and Ian Wilson.
In "DIMINUTIONS", these two worlds merge in a fascinating way.
The baroque ornamentation practice of diminution functions as a connecting element between contemporary and baroque music.
In the interplay of both sound languages, Ehrhardt spectacularly puts the virtuosity and tonal diversity of the baroque harp centre stage.
