The members of the Ginzburg family are sixth-generation professional musicians whose klezmer repertoire has been passed down, expanded and perfected from generation to generation. They are the only professional klezmer dynasty in Europe today. Weddings and other Jewish celebrations are their specialty. Nevertheless, they are masters of classical, jazz as well as dance music.
The Ginzburgs are multi-instrumentalists with a long family tradition that originated in Ukraine in Jekatirinoslav / Dnepropetrovsk/Dnepr. Here the famous Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson worked and taught. The family was already very famous in the 19th century. When the Ginzburg ensemble performed at a wedding, it was a very special honor.
