Talk & discussion in the frame of „Die da oben!“

Whether it's migration, coronavirus, Putin or Gaza: conditions for public debate are not looking good at the moment. It is becoming increasingly difficult to even identify disagreements, let alone reach consensus.

Arguments are replaced by emotions, terms are twisted into their opposites. Conspiracy narratives supplant the necessary criticism of prevailing discourses. Instead of a counter-public sphere, driven mobs rage on digital media. This allows the eulogists and beneficiaries of the existing disorder to present themselves as the sole guardians of reason.

Thematically, this open discussion format ties in directly with the production „Die da oben!“ by Limited blindness . Per Leo, Luise Meier and Guillaume Paoli take an analytical approach to the current situation and debate counterstrategies.

Per Leo, historian and author (including ‘Tränen ohne Trauer’ (Tears Without Sorrow) and co-author of ‘Mit Rechten reden’ [Talking to the Right]), editor of „Die Weltbühne“ Luise Meier, theatre maker, performer and author (most recently: ‘Mrx Maschine’ and ‘Hyphen’). Guillaume Paoli, philosopher and essayist (including ‘Soziale Gelbsucht’ and ‘Etwas Besseres als der Optimismus’).
