Two top ensembles meet in this cooperation - the DSO and the NDR Bigband from Hamburg, who are realising a big band orchestra project together for the first time. The programme includes music by Nikki Iles and two world premieres: Maurice Ravel's ‘Ma mère l'oye’, overpainted and morphed for big band and orchestra, and ‘Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) II’ by Geir Lysne.
