The fans of Declan Welsh & The Decadent West love their sensitive, introspective and intelligent lyrics and the catchy hooks. Their musical spectrum shows influences from the middle Radiohead to the electrically influenced New Romantics of the 1980s. The band has matured while maintaining the snappy lyrics and melodic focus of earlier works
Songwriter Welsh and his band - Duncan McBride on guitar, Ben Corlett on bass and Murray Noble on drums - have released four EPs and 2019's album Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold, all to critical acclaim.
Memorably named "2", the new album explores the experience of coping with a world in which people increasingly feel alone and insecure, tackling themes of self-doubt, isolation and apathy towards global conflict, embedded in lush harmonies, synthesizer harmonies and bass grooves.
Declan Welsh & The Decadent West are coming to Berlin with the new material in December.
