Hans Christian Andersen was fascinated by the new technologies of his time: in lesser-known fairy tales, with paper cutouts and collages, he talked about telegraphy, the railway, the microscope and even imagined airplanes. The media artist Alessandro Maggioni and the performer Magali Tosato immerse themselves through these fantastic worlds using analog paper cutting and digital projection and invite the audience on a journey through old and current visions of the future.
Material workshop on “Dance in the Wheels” by Alessandro Maggioni and Magali Tosato
Always an hour before the start of the performance, they invite the audience to try out the paper cutting technique themselves. The resulting characters will be seen on stage later in the performance.
