Pavel Steidl plays works by Martin Smolka, Phillip Houghton, Tilman Hoppstock, Carlo Domeniconi and his own pieces. Since Rakovnik, Czech Republic-born Pavel Steidl won first prize at the Radio France International Competition in Paris in 1982, he has become one of the most celebrated soloists of his generation.

“Dal vivo” - “live” - in the direct Italian sense “from life”. Under this motto, the “Dal vivo” concert series presents current music for guitar. The focus is on the undiscovered timbres and playing techniques. The diverse influences, including Indian, Turkish or Korean music, lead to current trends from popular music to experimental music of Central European influence and show that “guitarism” goes far beyond what is often only associated with Spanish music goes.
