Lecture Series in Memory of Klaus Hesse

Until 2021, Klaus Hesse was a research fellow and exhibition curator at the Topography of Terror Foundation. Klaus Hesse was a highly regarded expert in visual history and published numerous academic essays. With his particular interest in the visual legacy of the Nazi era, Hesse played a key role in shaping several exhibitions, most notably the permanent exhibition that has been on display at the Topography of Terror Documentation Centre since 2010. He remained closely associated with the organisation even in retirement. On 31 March 2026, Klaus Hesse passed away following a long illness.
