On November 6, 2023, contemporary witness Salomea Genin will be a guest at the Anne Frank Center for a conversation and reading. Karsten Troyke, an internationally known interpreter of Yiddish songs, will lead the conversation with Salomea Genin and provide musical accompaniment.
Salomea Genin was born in Berlin in 1932 and fled to Australia with her family from the National Socialists in May 1939. In her book "I Followed the False Gods - an Australian Jew in the GDR" she reports on the escape to Australia and recalls the time of National Socialism. She is self-critical about her return to the GDR and her time as a SED member.
The number of participants for this event is limited. Registration is required at: Veranstaltung@annefrank.de
