In the concentration and extermination camps of National Socialism, deportees risked their lives to secretly take photos in an attempt to document the crimes of the Nazis.
In À pas aveugles - Blinden Schrittes (2020), filmmaker Christophe Cognet roams the remains of these camps with his camera, searching for the traces of these men and women by taking the perspectives of their photographs.
Together with German, Polish, Czech and French historians, the director traces the context in which these forbidden pictures were taken and recalls the fate of their authors.
