The Hasenheide - an exciting history of its use

During the neighborhood walk, the changing use of the Hasenheide is knowledgeably discussed. From the former hunting ground, to military use, to the recreation area in modern times.

Not to forget: The first public gymnastics field in Germany was built here by "Turnvater Jahn" in 1811. Jahn's biography is therefore also examined in more detail.

The "Neue Welt" at Hermannplatz was a place of entertainment in Rixdorf, as Neukölln used to be called. Until well into the 20th century, the annual Bock beer festival was still celebrated there.

City guide Reinhold Steinle has been leading tours through Neukölln's neighborhoods for 15 years.

Tickets: 10 euros per person, reduced 7 euros (students, ALG II).

Duration: 90 minutes
