For the exhibition “Edvard Munch. Magic of the North
The Berlinische Galerie is starting a new round of the popular “Circle Training: Art” format. This time, the athletic and discursive parcours combines works from the permanent exhibition with works from the current special exhibition “Edvard Munch. Spells of the North” (9/15/23–1/22/24).
The works of Edvard Munch, who comes from Norway, are almost predestined to illuminate the beginnings of the art metropolis Berlin since the 1890s. The metropolis on the Spree was not only Munch's place of residence for a time, but also a popular exhibition venue for his works.
Visitors are invited to a lively dialogue about works of art, which the circuit training: art illuminates station by station. With expert art historical accompaniment, the charm of Berlin at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries is traced using the work of Munch and his contemporaries.
