  • 23 July 2022 18:00 Haydn & Schubert | Chamber Ensemble of the Kammerphilharmonie Amadé
  • 06 August 2022 18:00 Grieg, Mendelssohn & Elgar | with Mayu Nihei, violin
  • 21 August 2022 18:00 Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Mozart | with Thomas Demenga, violoncello

To kick off the series on 23 July, the Kammerphilharmonie Amadé will perform chamber music masterpieces by Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert in a small ensemble.

The second programme of the series will take the audience on a journey into musical romanticism and the great themes of human existence with works by Mendelssohn, Grieg and Elgar: youth, longing and farewell to the world.

In the third concert, the ensemble will perform with one of the most important musicians of our time: the Swiss cellist and composer Thomas Demenga will play masterpieces of the cello literature by Haydn and Tchaikovsky. The finale will be Mozart's "First Lodronic Night Music", a rarely performed treasure that is "one of the purest, most cheerful, most delightful, most perfect things that has ever taken musical form" according to Mozart biographer Alfred Einstein.

The Grunewald hunting lodge in its unique combination of nature and culture, of tradition and spontaneous, free-flowing presence is a rarity in Germany. The Sleeping Beauty sleep of an old castle in the forest by a lake awakens many associations, stimulates the imagination and suggests that there was a time when man's inner world was still in order. This inner world should come alive in our concerts.
