The Brothers Lionheart is a fantasy novel about two brothers, and about love which is stronger than death. The brothers reunite after death in the land of Nangijala, where there is spring eternal.
But the shadow of the tyrant Tengil is looming large, hailing from the land of Karmanjaka, where he is about to build a fortress into the age-old mountain of mountains. A battle between good and bad, and a story about fear and courage, about the battle for freedom, and about death begins.
When Lindgren’s book was released, it fuelled a debate about whether death was an appropriate subject for a children’s book. The children themselves, however, loved it from day one and felt happy and comforted by the story.
They want to celebrate a fantastic, exciting night out on Christmas Day with you and your families. Actor Inga Busch, whom many of you will know as the reporter Karla Kolumna from the Bibi-Blocksberg films, will read from the book and tell the story, with resident musician Sir Henry providing the musical background.
Recommended for children aged 6+, who are already attending school.
