Archaeological finds and their artistic transformation
Hundreds of pieces of glass were found during archaeological excavations on Tempelhofer Feld. Their artistic transformation offers a new approach to dealing with Nazi forced labor.
The shards of glass come from the barracks of a forced labor camp on Columbiadamm in Tempelhof. They are fragments of windows and everyday objects, some of which melted as a result of air raids at the end of the war.
Susan Pollock and Reinhard Bernbeck led the excavation on the Tempelhof field (2012-2014). They will present the finds and their research in lectures. They will then discuss the artistic work "Glass" with Sonya Schönberger.
