Helena Fernandino with PUCK e. V. Kinder- und Jugendtanzklassen (Dresden, Saxony)
What does social media presence say about people? What is the purpose of disclosing a physical person? How can you set limits and – more importantly – stick to them?
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, BeReal – social media services are part of young people’s everyday lives today. They serve as a tool for statements, questions, answers, reflections, dating and activism. Through them, communication is created in parallel spaces –- one of which is reality. Shuttling between these spaces is a game between strength and vulnerability. Together with the choreographer Helena Fernandino, the PUCK e. V. ensemble deals with visible and invisible boundaries in the interaction with social media channels and reflects on our everyday dealings with these media. In the space of endless possibilities and staged representations, “Borders_me and the strangeness” accompanies the protagonist of the piece in her process of reflection in search of a connection to her true self.
