Blending storytelling and fluid, acrobatic choreography, BELLO! unites seven artists and an actress who is completely taken aback. Together, they explore—sometimes gently and poetically, sometimes raw and turbulent—how people find inner beauty and how they share it with the world.
Created by director Francesco Sgrò and an international ensemble of acrobats, BELLO! unfolds as a series of short stories that reveal the subtleties, frustrations, and wonders of seemingly mundane, everyday interactions. Intricate, almost meditative acrobatics transform into satires of garish fashion shows and joyful ballets before returning to the simplicity of touch, connection, and physical collaboration.
BELLO! exists in its own unique world and aesthetic, combining traditional group acrobatics with contemporary movement forms such as contact improvisation and physical theatre. The result is a stage world that welcomes the audience with open arms and invites them to ask together: What do people owe each other? What do they owe one another?
