Jewelry from the Hardware Department
Around 1940, Bauhaus artist Anni Albers and her student Alexander Reed created necklaces made from everyday metallic materials and objects. Reduced and yet surprisingly noble, these pieces of jewelry appear. In the workshop, shimmering elegance is coaxed from these seemingly worthless materials.
Please feel free to bring your own metal scraps such as screws, wire, nuts and sealing rings !
