The music of Ausfahrt is rooted in Christina Zurhausen's own experiences and follows the aesthetics of grunge rock. The band leader, who comes from the rough everyday life of the Ruhr area, composes the band's songs - songs which, despite their clear structure and melody, are based on improvisation and are characterized by catchiness.
Zurhausen's music tells of loving and quarrelling worlds, with a penchant for philosophy, in an attempt to fathom what holds the world together at its core. The Ruhr region is always in his thoughts, the experienced 90s and beloved 60s in mind.
It's about emotions that lie deeper and are energetically processed by the well-rehearsed musicians with a modern, rocking attitude.
“In the difficult times we live in today, very valuable and original things are being created. One example of this is the album “The End Of The World”, recorded by the band led by guitarist Christina Zurhausen. Together with her band, she has created a musical language of her own that impresses with its maturity and determination. I have listened to this album many times and I assure all jazz fans that this music captivates us and lets us experience something at the highest artistic level.”
