Artur & Vanessa is the new band project by Moritz Krämer and Francesco Wilking (Die HöchsteEisenbahn), Catharina Schorling (CATT), Wencke Wollny (Charlemagne), Malte Huck (Beachpeople, AnnenMayKantereit), Liv Solveig, Benedikt Reising (Hildegard is learning to fly) and Pascal el Sauaf.

Artur & Vanessa came about by accident. Sometime in 2017, when asked if they would write a novel together, Moritz Krämer and Francesco Wilking began texting each other a story back and forth. After 11 short scenes in news format, it was over. It quickly became clear to both of them that this would be more of a concept album than a book. So they called friends with whom they had never made music together with the question: We wrote a story, it's about Artur and Vanessa, who found an amusement park and almost die in it. We would like to make songs out of it, 10 days, one every day, at Pascal's Studio Nord, do you have time/in the mood?

Difficult to describe the vibe with which the album was created: "You have to have been there, eaten and drunk along to understand what happened there," says CATT. “I have no idea, all of a sudden the songs were finished and I was back on the train to Leipzig (to my old life),” says Wencke Wollny (Charlemagne). How nice, a fluffy idea has become a story and a holiday camp with friends has become a record that is naive, colourful, desperate, funny, like the story of Artur & Vanessa, two of whom we would have loved to have to make it.
