Ola Kolehmainen at the Dahlmann/Miettinen Collection showroom

The exhibition at Salon Dahlmann invites you to rediscover the art of seeing: Ola Kolehmainen presents a selection of his latest works in an exciting juxtaposition with pieces from the Miettinen Collection.

For many years, Kolehmainen has been exploring museums and archives both as architectural spaces and as repositories of cultural memory. With his works, he creates settings that take us on a fascinating journey through the history of science, art and human experience.

The exhibition focuses on key themes such as the power of knowledge, religious representations, architecture as a stage for politics and collecting as an expression of human curiosity.

The motifs range from ancient artworks to treasures from the 18th century and come from major museums in Berlin, Paris, Venice and Stockholm. The concept for the exhibition was developed in a dialogue between Ola Kolehmainen and museum expert Dr Susanna Pettersson, who together develop new perspectives on museums and their works.

Ola Kolehmainen, born in Helsinki in 1964, has been living in Berlin since 2005 and is considered one of the most important representatives of Finnish photography. His works are represented in renowned collections and institutions worldwide.
