Architectural innovations from 200 years

When the Bauhaus relocated its teaching activities to Berlin in 1932, teachers and students finally encountered a large city with social and economic conditions that could have been a suitable basis for their innovative endeavors.

The teacher Wassily Kandinsky saw the green location of her provisionally prepared school district on the Teltow Canal as a “pretty area”. Did it already offer the opportunity to experience the Berliner in exchange with the general modern demands of the arts, of all places in Steglitz?

The tour will show how the idea of New Building was implemented early on in this solid residential area and how it remains impressively connected to Berlin's building history to this day in a leisurely cycle past amazing stations along the residential area, office, church, clinic, square, manor house, stadium, Factory and family home.
