ANTIGONE :: COMEBACK is a journey through time that takes us 70 years back, right into Brecht’s theater laboratory of the future and an encounter with Helene Weigel an Brecht himself. Eyed suspiciously by the Swiss immigration police, but unnoticed by the public, the couple arrives in Chur during the first days of January 1948. They take up residence in the Hotel Stern. Brecht's adaptation of "Antigone" for the experimental Chur Theater, starring Weigel in the title role, is his first practical work in Europe since he left Germany in 1933.

Weigel who, at forty-seven, isactually too old for Antigone, hasn't even been on stage for 15 years. Both are existentially dependent on "Antigone" becoming a success. For Weigel, her career is at stake, for Brecht his entire theatrical model. Underneath the conflict between Antigone and Creon, between abiding by the law and the quest for freedom, tyranny and resistance, the conflict between Brecht and his partner Weigel becomes visible. Their rehearsing “Antigone” is about nothing less than the laws of fiction and reality.

Equipped with VR glasses, the viewer enters the scenic installation by the artist trio RAUM+ZEIT alone. He comes very close to Brecht and Helene Weigel, both live and virtually, and embarks on a subjective journey into the interior.
